Hamburg Deutsche Telekom has halted the sale of its IT services subsidiary T-Systems. According to insiders, negotiations with other interested parties were not successful. Therefore, an early conclusion on acceptable terms is no longer realistic at the present time.

Relevant information Handelsblatt confirmed several sources in corporate and financial circles. The project is considered internally unsuccessful; Telekom’s board of directors, led by its chairman Timotheus Höttges, is said to have again initiated a change in strategy.

Deutsche Telekom did not comment specifically on this information. The market environment is dynamic, a spokesman said upon enquiry. Management has “opportunities for continued continued and entrepreneurial growth.”

Talks about T-Systems, a subsidiary of Telekom, failed

The sale or investor participation in T-Systems was originally planned last year as an exemption. The project’s success should eliminate one of the few problems that CEO Höttges has been unable to resolve more than eight years after taking office.
